Desire as an incessant impulse that drives the mechanism of being without being a being itself. It is not a hunger that can be satisfied, but an internal vector that constantly runs toward what is yet unattainable. In the world of thought, desire functions like the constant movement of air, travelling from a point of lack toward a point of saturation, yet always stopping at the boundary that defines its vitality. Should it touch the object, desire expires; thus, its essence lies in enduring within the distance.
Within us, this desire is the most radical record of our imperfection. We carry a tension where the pursuit of possession collides with the quiet awareness that it is precisely the inability to fully grasp that defines our humanity. We are the architects of our own longings, building structures from what we lack, giving this absence the shape of craving. It is a record of a pursuit that seeks no rest in a destination, but in the process of becoming conscious of one’s own lack. Desire is not a defect here, but the force that compels us to constantly redefine the world, for only in constant motion can we maintain our authenticity.
