In the traditional understanding of the Decalogue, this commandment pertains to the prohibition of lying and harmful judgment, particularly within the judicial context. However, in contemporary society—characterized by the dominance of media, digital misinformation, and the blurring of boundaries between fact and opinion—this commandment assumes a deeper and more complex ethical dimension. Today, “bearing false witness” extends beyond mere falsehood to include narrative manipulation, omission of context, the assumption of false identities, and the destruction of reputation through half-truths.

The abstract photograph created using the light-painting technique employs dynamic light as a symbol of the fracture between truth and illusion. The composition is founded on the contrast between two types of light: one that is stable, ordered, and almost architectural (symbolizing truth and integrity), and another that is chaotic, dispersed, and layered over the first (representing falsehood, distortion, and disruption).

Within the framework of Conscious Abstraction, false witness is not depicted as a singular act but as a process—one that deforms interpersonal relationships and the truth about reality. On both spiritual and social levels, the artwork attempts to address the question of whether a shared truth still exists or whether every narrative has been supplanted by interest-driven storytelling.
